The action of switching to generator power is a part of a broader strategy by ERCOT to prevent the grid from becoming overloaded during times of peak demand.
Drought conditions have worsened. Groundwater usage has risen dramatically. Stage 2 is necessary to facilitate compliance with HGSD.
While the Authority remains in Stage 1, we request that all water users conserve water as much as possible at this time.
WHCRWA is requesting all water users to voluntarily reduce their water usage effective immediately.
WHCRWA has adopted an Encroachment Policy setting forth rules and requirements intended to establish a uniform approach to encroachments.

At the City of Houston’s request, the WHCRWA has turned off the valve connecting it to the City’s water system.
WHCRWA is anticipating a reduction in surface water delivery from the City of Houston.
